ACUF’s Pat Nolan sat down to discuss the reasons conservatives are working to reform the criminal justice system. The current system is costly, bureaucratic and recycles inmates in and out of our prisons. Conservative reforms passed in the states have shown that by reserving costly prison beds for the truly dangerous offenders the state can use the savings to improve mental health services and drug treatment, and cut overall spending.
